Gateway towns near Kings Canyon

Kings Canyon is jointly administered with Sequoia (SEKI) and shares its primary gateway: Three Rivers, on Highway 198, holds the foothill approach to both parks via the Generals Highway. Grant Grove is the in-park hub near the Big Stump entrance, and Cedar Grove sits deep down the Kings Canyon Scenic Byway (Highway 180) — open only late spring through fall. Open a town for its lodging, dining, and what there is to do beyond the park.
